Sixteen Notable Rhode Islanders From The Period 1880-1900 (The Gilded Age) To Be Inducted into The Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame

Event Description: Dr. Patrick T. Conley, President of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, and Chairman of the Historians Committee of the Hall of Fame, will preside over the induction of sixteen (16) prominent Rhode Islanders from the period 1880-1900 into the Heritage Hall of Fame, a facility which will be located in Heritage Harbor Museum on the Providence waterfront. The Hall was formerly housed at the Rhode Island Historical Society.
Dr. Conley will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event to which the public is invited, and will present biographical profiles of the inductees documenting the reasons for their selection. Assisting him will be the members of the Hall of Fame Board or Hall of Fame members, including Albert T. Klyberg, Dr. D. Scott Molloy, Jr., James P. Marusak, Esq., James Leach, Mary Shekarchi, Esq., Glenn Laxton, Manuel Gorriaran, Jr., Arlene Violet, Halsey Herreshoff, and Professor Gordon Wood.
Receiving on behalf of the inductees will be either descendants or representatives of institutions with which the inductees were associated including the Diocese of Providence, the Rhode Island National Guard, Brown University, the City of Providence, the Statehouse Historical Society, the South County Museum, Pettasquamscutt Historical Society, the Bell Street Chapel, the Davol Company, and the Berlitz School of Languages.
